People do their make up in many ways but the popping difference in elegant make up is... having skilled eyeliner techniques.

Most beautiful elegant women who aren't that much into make up feel that wearing eyeliner in the daytime can be a bit too much. However, there are several ways of applying eyeliner that completes our favourite elegant 'no make' make up look.

This might sound corny, but there is tremendous power in mastering how to apply eyeliner! In some make up videos, the brave make up artist takes her eyeliner off and she looks like a completely different person!

Wearing eyeliner is an art. It changes the shape of your eye. It has the ability to make your eye look bigger. Using different colour eye liners can create different effects and make your eyes 'pop'.

Just as there are many ways to apply eyeliner, there are also several types of eyeliner. Namely the pencils, crayon, marker, gel, and liquid eyeliner.

If you are a beginner at applying eyeliner, start with the pencil, it is the easiest. Also, another beauty make up tip is to invest in a reputable brand of make up. g a good reputable brand will save you time and money (and hopefully frustration) right from the start.

Eye liner Tutorial For Beginners: Day Make Up

Start with a light hand when applying eyeliner.

• Hold your upper lid taut, apply eyeliner from the outside corner of the eye, stopping two-thirds of the way along the eyelid. This will make your eye appear bigger
• Apply with short strokes. Draw the line into the lash line rather than above it.
• Make the line of the eyes thicker progressively it outwards. I.e. the corners of your eye must have the thickest line.

Problems of Smudging

Despite using a good quality eye liner, sometimes the oils in your skin or the climate may still smudge. Unfortunately, what works for me might not work for you. You may have to do a little trail and error to figure out what works best for you.

Some eyeliners are specially formulated to be smudgeproof: Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, Carbon Black, 0.016 Ounce.

If you happen to buy an eyeliner that smudges, here are some ways that might help solve that problem.

Ways To Prevent Eyeliner Smudging

To prevent it from smudging further, you can dab a little eye shadow over it, especially at the corners of the eye.

If you make any mistake, dip a cotton tip (Q-tips/Cotton buds) into eye make up remover and gently rub the mistake off. If all else fails, remove all eye make up and do over.

Remember to powder the bottom of the eye when you are done.

Eye liner tip: To make eyes appear wider, trace the lower inner rims of eyes with a white pencil.

You can also simply use a white pencil like this one, MAKE UP FOR EVER Kohl Pencil Matte White 2K , to make a ">" and "<" shape at the corners of your eye to make your eyes "sparkle" or have a "bright" effect.

You want to go as natural as possible in the day, so my advice is to use brown eyeliner and save the black for night. For morning events, use brown eyeliner very sparingly.
