Complicated Guestlist Involving Separated Parents

My husband and I are separated and our middle daughter is graduating this year and would like a party. The problem that I have is is it acceptiable for me to invite the family members on his side of the family to a party that I will be hosting at my home? She would really like to celebrate with her whole family and her father is not going to give her a party. He flat out refuses to give her one. Is it out of line of me to invite his side to my home?
