Does the bride host the reception

by Heidi Keller
(Mtn View, Arkansas)

This is a question about guests.

My wedding was 2 weeks ago. Since then I've had two friends complain; one complained that I didn't introduce her to my husband and the other complained that I didn't introduce her to my brother.

I feel a little peeved about their complaints because I feel like they had the opportunity to introduce themselves - or they could have said, "Hey, introduce me to so and so." That was the biggest day of my life, I was involved with a lot of things and barely had time to sit down and take a breather. My husband and I went in different directions a time or two - I had no idea who has met, and who hasn't.

But am I really suppose to grab everyone and introduce them to everyone else individually? Am I suppose to play bride and hostess at my own wedding reception? They both just sat at their tables and never got up but to eat. All they had to do was mingle, or ask that I introduce them to whomever - or introduce themselves!

sexy prom gowns NEW
by: diaojing

Prom is a chance to reinvent ones self, scratching the image of the everyday you to

the new glammed up you. Us girls get into a different state of mind as we seek out to

find a design 2013 prom dresses gowns that will have us feeling pretty and perfect.

There's no limit to what you can wear and where you can take your style. With so many

discount prom dresses 2013 such as high low dresses (my personal favorite),

asymmetrical gowns, halters, and strapless your work is indeed cut out for you.
If you are fair skinned, then choose colors that will lend natural color to your skin

tone and give you that ethereal glow that is so very beautiful for fair complexions.

Your choice of fetching prom gowns 2013 should be in colors that compliment your skin,

if you have light colored hair; look for sea foam green, pale rose, creamy peach,

begonia pink, and other soft pastels. For young ladies with fair complexions and dark

hair then looking at color choices for 2013 prom dresses gowns should be in colors of

deep purple, emerald greens, deep reds, and other jewel tones, set off by the darker

hair, your fair complexion will glow in these deeper colors.
A feeling of being dressed in an adult gown is one of the reasons strapless evening

dresses are so popular. The strapless bodice works well as the topping of en elegant,

ethereal ball gown, or the sexy and sassy playful adventurer wearing one of the newest

trends, the mini discount prom dresses. We carry a much wider selection of this year's

hottest trends in fetching prom gowns, than the local boutique can have in stock.

Bridal introductions
by: Dandelion

Best wishes in honor of your marriage!

There are two questions here which have two different answers. Your first friend should have been introduced to your husband, either in the receiving line (if you had one) or at the reception as you went around and greeted everyone. The newly-married couple does need to make sure they mingle at the reception and thank their guests for coming--individually and in person, not simply written on the favors or announced over the loudspeaker.

The second friend's request, that you find an apparently random (though closely-related) person and introduce them, is lovely if it happens but not really reasonable to expect of the bride (or groom) at this time. Wedding receptions are, however, a completely acceptable time to introduce yourself to anyone in whom you have an interest.

No, you were busy at you own wedding. You should not have been expected to introduce people. (After my wedding, we left to go on our honeymoon; elderly relatives were angry that we didn't stop and visit them first!). Your friends could have introduced themselves.
