Elegant Wedding Style Top Three Style Notes
To have an elegant wedding, we have to note that the top three things everyone remember of weddings are 1) The wedding location & 2) The dress (or dresses) 3) The wedding photos 1. Wedding Location
Elegant Wedding Style The Wedding Location
I personally think this is the most important element of all when styling an elegant wedding. The place creates the atmosphere, gives clues on what to expect in the event. It will be the backdrop of all the photography on your special day. You might want to be the classy bride and consider the transport of your guests as well. Will it be convenient? Or a very tempting holiday for your guests if it is a destination wedding? Are the directions clear? If its on a charming rustic farm, you might want to add that add a tip about what shoes are best to wear in your invites. How to choose an elegant wedding location? - Ensure that the place is not too colourful, busy or cluttered. - If possible, choose high ceilings - Test the lighting. Natural sunlight that pours in that is not too glaring? A soft warm glow instead of office-looking lights? - Are there walls or pillars that get in the way of the view? This obstructs your guests' view and the photographers. - If there are "ugly parts", advise your photographer not to take any pictures if it is at the background. - You can sometimes combat a less than ideal situation by hiring a creative decorator. Flowers, lights, candles, and lanterns always enhances the beauty of a place. Read more about the How-tos of Elegant Wedding Receptions. Elegant Wedding Style Tip : I always believe in authenticity. I don't believe in choosing the most expensive, opulent wedding location - if that's your style and your usual standard of living, its great! If it's not, my advice is to be a little modest because you don't want to appear that you are too indulgent. Its natural to go overboard, after all, it is one of the most beautiful days in your life! Even if you choose a less than glamourous place, it is more elegant if it is a meaningful place. It could be an area you grew up in, the old school that you both attended, the backyard of your favourite weekend house etc. Dress it up! There is beauty in imperfection. People always always look forward to see the bride in her dress. While there are so many beautiful dresses by all the creative designers in the world, we can only get married in one dress! Before you run out and buy all the bridal magazines, or browse the galleries of dresses online. Elegant Wedding Style The Wedding Photos There are several types of wedding photos. There are engagement pictures, a wedding portfolio where you and your groom act like models for a day either in a studio on in a remote location. And of course, the photos that are taken on the big day. Photos are such a tell-tale sign of elegance. Unless you have a very fine taste for photography, or can afford the most-awards winning photographer, you have to be careful when selecting your photographer. It definitely helps that the place and dress you chose are already elegant. Go beyond one step and emphasis the dress code of your guests! More about that here... To achieve tasteful elegant pictures, aim for natural instead of 'supposed glamour'. Unless you are a professional model, or have a photographer who can direct you and styling you to the finest detail, avoid model like poses. Otherwise, the best compliment you can receive from that portfolio is, "Oh my gosh, she looks like a model!" keep good posture at all times. Having a few laughing out loud shots is more than enough. Most of your photography should be soft , try to achieve that by attaining a level of comfort that the camera is on you and being subtly aware. Don't look at the camera, pretend its not there. Train yourself NOT to give the standard camera smile but just go out and about. Try not to be shy or giggle. Don't be embarrassed. Just focus on your partner and remind yourself why you are so blessed to be with him. Stay away from cheesy shots. Stay away from photography poses that make your guests uncomfortable. Think about showing the album to your grandmother. If you want to take those shots, keep them in a private album.Lastly, I find that photographers who use slow flashes, or no flash at all, those who do not over saturate their photos, who themselves prefer a more photo journalistic style, tend to produce more elegant work.
