Help with a sensitive wedding anniversary.

I've worked for my boss for nearly nine years and I consider he and his wife feel more like extended family. My boss recently suffered a near fatal arrhythmia and is recovering in a rehab facility. Their wedding anniversary is next week and I've always sent flowers to his wife on his behalf. He's not fully conscious, would it be insensitive of me to send her flowers on the anniversary and simply say that I'm thinking of her today?
