How do I invite some people but not all?

I am planning a small wedding (under 100 people) and would like to invite a couple but not all of the people from my office. It's a small company with only 22 employees, would it be completely out of line to invite some if not others?

I think you just need to invite who you want to include and leave it at that. I think it will make sense to people why you have invited some individuals - probably because you are closer to them and may spend time with them out of work. Remember if people do not know you very well, they probably would prefer not to be invited anyway. It can be awkward to be invited to a wedding when you are not that close to the bride or groom.

You just do.

If you do not wish to invite everybody, you just do. You don't have to apologize or explain. We have to trust that people will be kind enough to understand.
