Lady in Training

For many years I have admired women who are not just women but ladies. I believe, being a lady has very little to do with money or class. One can still be a lady even if the roof is leaking. My Elegant Aspiration is to be that kind of a lady. God knows, I have a long way to go, but at least there is the desire and the dream, and I am doing something about it.

I believe that 'class' does have everything to do with being a lady. Class encompasses education, morals, interests, vocabulary, accent, wardrobe, manners, grooming, weight, hairstyle, cosmetic application, jewelry...and absolutely nothing to do with the amount of money one has. Although it is easier to acquire class with money than without, if you are motivated to improve your lot in life it can still be done.

Years ago (before I had the money for such things) I bought everything used for a fraction of the cost. Wealthy women regularly sell their clothes and accessories on consignment. I read every book, article and, later, internet website I could find (and still do!). Being refined, classy, a Lady, is a lifelong process and there is always something to improve upon.
