Proper Use of a Silver Tea Service

by Laurel
(Sharpsburg, GA)

I have been lucky enough to receive an old silver plated (one can't have everything) tea service, which I would like to use properly. There is a large tray, 3 pots of different sizes (one of which sits on a small stand with a built in warmer,) a covered sugar bowl, a creamer and what I understand is a "slop bowl." I am most confused by the 3 pots. Is one for hot water? Is it to allow service of different kinds of tea? What is the appropriate use of a slop bowl? Do I place the sugar spoon on the tray next to the sugar bowl?

I'm sure I would not be able to carry a fully loaded tray with 3 pots full of hot liquid, sugar and creamer. What is the practical way to set everything up when entertaining?

Thank you for any guidance.
