Showing Appreciation For Gift

Our son recently was diagnosed with cancer.

When out in the yard the other day, my neighbor and I were talking and I happened to mention it in passing. The next day he and his entire family were out raking leaves from our yard. We really like these neighbors, but do not know them very well. How can we best show our appreciation for their gift?
