Taking a date to a Wedding or Bridal Shower

I am a 27 year old female and I still live at home with my parents. I am currently in a long distance relationship, he lives in California, and we've been together for 4 years.

Very close friends of my family are getting married in April. We received the invitation yesterday. It was addressed to my parents and me as "Mr. & Mrs. O. Sachser and Miss Raquel."

The reason for my email is that I would like to take a date. However, because the invitation did not include a guest, for me, I feel as though I shouldn't. I also feel a little offended because they all know I have a boyfriend and regardless I am an adult.

The bridal shower is this weekend...should I casually ask the bride if I could bring a date?

Please let me know if I'm wrong or if there is anything I could say to the bride that will not offend her.

Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

Raquel
