When Should I Send A Sympathy Card

by Loa Perkes

My question is when you have heard of an passing and you are planning on going to the funeral within the week, when is it correct to send a sympathy card, before the funeral or after? Or would I take with me to the funeral?

Looking forward to your answer.

3-1/2 years too late to send sympathy card NEW
by: Anonymous

Obviously I am very late in sending a card. The person who passed was a friend, but we drifted apart. Purchased a card that truly said it all regarding her, but have put it off for so long. Is it possible to still send the card to the family.

It is acceptable to take it with you. You may wish to mail it as soon as possible, if that is your choice.

The point of sympathy cards is to express your care and hopefully make the grieving period slightly better.
